An adventure called my life

Welcome one and all to the strange and varied ramblings of my rather complicated mind. I'm pretty much your typical twenty-something trying to work out what she wants to do with her life. Right now I have no idea where I'll end up at the end of the ride, so to speak. Long term, I'm hoping for the usual, to be happy and rich enough to not have to struggle.

My hobbies veer on the side of eclectic, with some of my more normal interests including literature, Sci-Fi TV shows and photography. On the sports side, I'm a member of my local archery club, and hope to start playing tennis when I've got the spare cash. A big part of who I am is being a member of Girl Guiding UK, which I have been for about 8 years now. At the moment I'm involved with three of the four age groups within Guiding, and am training to become a Guider myself.

Generally my life tends to be pretty much 'average', whatever that means, with the occasional mini-adventure mixed in. I'm taking it all as it comes, you never know what opportunity might come knocking next. At the moment I'm doing a chunk of voluntary work, mainly at Cancer Research UK and the Citizens Advice Bureau.

The name of this site comes from a story I read a while ago by the same name. Whilst I did enjoy the plot, I use the name for what it means to me rather than simply as a tribute to the story. The fact that people will take one look at you and think they know exactly who you are, which frustrates the heck out of me. I'm white so I must be English, I'm not slim so I must be greedy, I'm female so I must be weak, I don't work so I must be a layabout, I'm foreign so I must be taking advantage of all the hardworking people who were born here, the list goes on and on. To me, 'Little Less Obvious' represents the fact that we're not all open books, we can't be organised in different boxes to suit other people, that there's more beneath the surface. It's my own little rebellion, so to speak.
