My journey through 2011:
January 9 - 16 2011: Chatel, France.
For as long as I've known him, my other half's family have gone skiing in France pretty much every winter. One of his uncles has a time share of sorts out there, so the whole clan can use it semi-freely. They've been asking me to come for ages, so I finally took the plunge, lol. It was absolutely amazing! I can honestly say I've never experienced anything like skiing down a slope, nothing but the beauty of nature around you.
February 5 - 6 2011: Edinburgh, UK.
February 18 - 20: Copeland Cottage
April 1 - 3: Hautbois
April 8 - 10: Waddow

Mid June: Washington DC
June 24 - 26: SOROCO
Mid July: WAGGGS conference

Travels in 2009 (or rather lack thereof, lol):
Where I went in 2008:
January 17 - 20 2008: Noisy Le Grand, France.
This trip was for C's 21st birthday (on the 19th). We stayed in a hotel around an hour's train journey from Paris, which meant our stay only cost about 6 Euros a night. Most of the trip was spent in Paris itself, but we did spend a day at Disney, lol.
April 10 - 17 2008: Calahonda, Costa del Sol, Spain.
A spur of the moment trip with two friends (C & CJ), planned as a chance to grab some early sun. Originally C's boyfriend was going to come with us, but unfortunately he ended up having re-sits that week. The week pretty much consisted of us renting a car for the week and driving up and down the Costa del Sol having mini-adventures.
May 19 - 26 2008: Salina, Aeolian Islands, Italy.
I went out to Italy as a favour for C when she was doing research for her master's dissertation. Basically, the uni field trip she was on was returning to the UK, but she needed to spend an extra two weeks out there to do the extra research. As she wasn't allowed to stay out there on her own because of H&S-type stuff, I spent a week with her before being replaced by D, her boyfriend. And yes, I do realise that's the third trip abroad with the same person, lol. What can I say, we both like to travel.
June 22 - 29 2008: Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, USA.
As part of my Dad's job, he flew out to FL for a week this summer to attend an annual Unitarian conference. Since I was on summer break, and Mom was able to get a week off of work, we both decided to join him. I can't even begin to describe how damn hot it was out there. We pretty much had the air conditioning on constantly!
